For Pools and Especially Spas If you have a cartridge filter on your pool or spa we highly recommended that you degrease your cartridge a minimum of twice a year for pools, say mid season and end of season, and 4 times a year for spas(depending on the amount of use it gets). The reason for this is the paper(filter media) in the cartridges becomes saturated with the likes of sun tan lotions, sun blocks/creams, body fats and oils.
